ByteUtilities operates byteutilities.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Most ByteUtilities tools process data 100% client-side in your browser. Your input — JSON, tokens, URLs, text — is never sent to any server, stored, or logged. Once you close the tab, all data is gone.
Six tools (NPM Package Inspector, DNS Lookup, Currency Converter, the breach-check feature in Password Generator, Domain Availability Checker, and Mock Data Generator) query a public third-party API directly from your browser — an npm package name, a domain name, a currency code, a 5-character hash prefix (never the actual password), a domain name to check for availability, or field/count selections to generate fake test data. None of this passes through a ByteUtilities server; we don't operate one and have no record of these lookups. See section 5 for which services these are.
We use anonymous analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, browser type, country). No personally identifiable information is collected.
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies to show personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings.
We use cookies for anonymous analytics and advertising. No login cookies or tracking cookies beyond these are used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. You may also opt out of analytics and advertising at any time. Contact us at hello@byteutilities.com to exercise these rights.
ByteUtilities does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact us immediately.
